My mom would love it if I was preppy by choice.  Alack, I am not.  But every once and again, the Only Girl in Applegate Who Didn’t Shop at Gap gets a little wistful.  I must be harbouring some 6th grade bitterness, however, cause I never wear prep straight up.  “Preppy with an edge” was a phase in college, which is more of that punky, London preppy feel.  Today I dressed in Pam & Gela’s girly version of the prep — a headband, sophisticated shoes, and of course, the prep staple — pearls.  Hey Class of ’92 — this WASP’s for you.
