Murphy’s Law

noun \ˈmər-fēz ˈlȯ\

Origin: probably from Edward A. Murphy †1990 American engineer
First Known Use: 1955
Definition: an observation: anything that can go wrong will go wrong

Example: I say, self-importantly, to a pretty important person, that my blog is, “Just approaching the one year anniversary!  And what’s most notable, at least in my opinion, is that I do it every business day, not sporadically.”  Wouldn’t you know, that declaration led to the week from posting hell. Monday my computer crashed.  Tuesday our network crashed.  Wednesday I was immersed in finalizing a presentation, and Thursday I flew out to Cincinnati to deliver it (how does an hour meeting and 2 70-minute flights equal 18 hours of travel time?  Oh travel, you defy mathematics again! I suppose, keeping consistent with things crashing, it’s fortuitous that our plane didn’t…)

In any case, I’ve uploaded my WWJW looks for the week here and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused my dear readers.

  1. too much to comment on! you look so beautiful in the yellow dress picture…it gives me faith that my hair, which has naturally dark roots with practically blonde ends similar to yours, is attractive. and i looove the 80s vibe! are the american apparel leggings good? i need some more because i LIVE in leggings, and those look like they might last more than 10 washes 😛

  2. You’re making me blush! Your hair sounds great! I have noticed celebs whose style I really admire like Sienna Miller, Gisele Bundchen, Beyonce, and Rachel Bilson have been unabashedly rocking the 2 tone hair — like she says in Clueless, “Carpe diem, you look hot!”

It would have taken a lot to convince me that one pair of leggings is better than another but I have to say, the American Apparel ones don’t pill or stretch out like others I’ve bought. If you wear them as much as you say I’d recommend checking them out. Sometimes those online sample sales like Hautelook and Gilt Group will have sales on American Apparel, cause their retail price can be a little steep. Then again it might be worth it if you’re tossing them after a season or less.

  3. I will definitely have to check those out! Gracias!
